Leaping
Off The Page
Published by Penguin Random House, Stephen Shaskan’s Pizza + Taco books had already sold over half a million copies. The characters were hits on the page — but the question was how to extend that magic into new formats. Fans loved them in print. Could Pizza and Taco leap off the paper and win over audiences in motion, too?
For Steve, it wasn’t just about animation — it was about watching his characters become assets that live beyond the book, building fandoms in new spaces. And that’s exactly what we love to do.
Faithful
Adaptation
We brought Pizza and Taco to life with a series of short, bouncy animations starting with Best Friends’ Dance. From there, we created three more animated videos that expanded the Pizza + Taco universe. Each one captured the humor, charm and fast-paced energy of the books — but translated it into a medium where movement, timing and personality did the heavy lifting. The animations weren’t just faithful adaptations — they were built as fan-fuel, designed to be rewatched, shared and loved in their own right.
Characters
Assets
The animations delighted Steve and his fans alike, giving the franchise a whole new way to connect with audiences. For the author, it wasn’t just about promotion — it was about watching his beloved characters become living assets, capable of growing fandoms beyond the bookshelf. For us, it was proof of what we do best: turning characters into brands that last.
